The Elm Project

Several years ago we started an interesting project to plant young elm trees grown from disease resistant stock. Twelve saplings have been planted in different locations round the hills and these are being carefully tended and monitored but it will be at least another twenty years before we know whether it is successful.

Woodlands Pool

A group of enthusiasts aided by the National Trust are undertaking a scheme to renovate an old pond on Woodlands hill. This includes the creation of a hibernaculum for use by amphibians to over-winter. We have made a contribution, and the project is ongoing as the pond fills with rainwater over the winter.
